Give 13 minutes on January 13th 2017

January 13th 2017 is the third, global, annual #MicroBizMattersDay of actions. Everyone is asked to give at least 13 minutes, day or night, to make life better for micro enterprise (0-9 employees) owners everywhere.

#MicroBizMattersDay takes place everywhere in the world and any which way anyone chooses. January 13th is about at least 13 minutes of actions – online and offline – on the ground, in the air and on the sea. There are no rules and borders in enterprise.

Do anything you like in your 13 minutes which you think will help one or more micro enterprise (0-9 employees) owners. To help you think of something to do we gathered together a list of suggested actions and a list of actual donations for the first #MicroBizMattersDay January 9th 2015 where everyone donated at least 9 minutes. You can easily adapt all of these for your 13 minutes on January 13th 2017.

All the suggested actions and donations are going to be taken by someone, somewhere on #MicroBizMattersDay 2017. They are in 3 Categories: #Customers; #Cashflow and #Chat.

TOP TIP FROM TONY AND TINA. Thousands and thousands of self employed and micro business owners will just have an on line or offline  party with their micro business owner friends and watch some of the live streaming action on the day. Having fun and learning from each other is a great way to be involved on #MicroBizMattersDay.

The annual, global #MicroBizMattersDay shows the world the massive contribution independent business owners and the self-employed make to the global economy, job creation and community. We call this combined power of micro enterprise owners the #PowerOfPlenty.

#MicroBizMattersDay of actions is primarily for these people – the #PowerOfPlenty. But on #MicroBizMattersDay everyone can play and do something to support micro enterprise.

We’re grateful to be backed by many innovative and forward looking global corporations that have millions of micro business owner customers between them.

The day couldn’t happen without all the networks (online and offline) that support the self employed and micro business owners backing the day – bringing everyone together for one day to make a huge global statement and impact.

So, we have also gathered suggested actions from the customers of and suppliers to micro enterprises and the members of many of these large online and offline networks.

Since January 9th 2012 the free-to-join-in Enterprise Rockers (@EnterpriseRocks) movement has been building the #PowerOfPlenty. British co-founders and co-funders of the Enterprise Rockers, Tina and Tony, along with Band Promoters (individuals) and Friends of the Rockers (organisations with networks of micro enterprise owners) have been increasing their reach around the world, through social media.

The Enterprise Rockers movement has achieved a great deal to make life better for micro enterprise owners but much more can be achieved by hundreds of thousands of people, millions potentially, giving thirteen minutes of positive, helpful actions on January 13th 2017.

Although, most countries are seeing record numbers of self-employed and micro enterprise owners (in the UK, for example 95% of all businesses are micro enterprise – 5 million) it is getting tougher to earn a reasonable living. In many countries the behaviour of national, regional and local government, alongside some large organisations, makes it an uphill struggle. (In the UK 1 in 7 of the workforce are self-employed but are earning 20% less than in 2008). You can see our 4 global campaigns here:

This third #MicroBizMattersDay of actions will enable more micro enterprises to survive and thrive around the world. Micro enterprises already create most new jobs, most innovation and most support to their communities so the future success of micro enterprise is #Rocking Good News for Everyone, Everywhere.
