Why I am Supporting #MicroBizMatters Day

I have always been a supporter and promoter of small businesses and have followed the #MicroBizMattersDay campaign for the last couple of years.

One of the things I took from the campaign in the early days was to discuss the terms of payment with my clients at the start of our working relationship.

Some of the bigger organisations can take up to 90 days to pay. I have to say that in my experience most large organisations that work with smaller suppliers appreciate the need to #PayIn30Days and if you’ve built a good relationship with them then it’s rarely a problem.

I started my first business at the age of 24 and cashflow was always my biggest hurdle.

The majority of the businesses I work with now are ‘Micro Businesses’ and my own observations are that micro businesses are vulnerable, there are particular challenges they face when exploring ways of marketing their business effectively online.

There are a lot of people doing really good things so there’s lots of opportunity to learn and I believe it is vital that business owners grasp a good level of knowledge & understanding that allows them to be a part of the process.

I help businesses profit from the resources they already have and develop a strategy from there. I’m a huge fan of co-promotion, if you can find a true collaboration then it can be to everyone’s benefit.

We have received a lot of support on our journey from businesses of all sizes, I see #MicroBizMatters as an opportunity to thank those that have contributed to our success and believed in our values and are still along for the ride.
